Electrical Testing and Compliance

Electrical Compliance Testing & Inspections

Ensuring the safety and reliability of your electrical installations is paramount, which is why we offer a range of essential services including Electrical Installation Conditioning Reports (EICR), Emergency light testing, Fire Alarm testing, Thermal Imaging, Data Logging, and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).

Over time, all electrical systems undergo wear and tear, making periodic inspection and testing imperative to ascertain their safety and functionality. Upon completion of these inspections, we provide you with a detailed Electrical Condition Report (EICR), outlining any issues or potential hazards that need attention.

A periodic inspection serves several crucial purposes:

  • Identifying overloaded circuits or equipment.
  • Detecting potential electric shock risks and fire hazards.
  • Pinpointing any defective electrical work.
  • Highlighting any deficiencies in earthing or bonding.

The frequency of periodic inspections varies depending on the type of premises:

  • Commercial Premises: Every 5 years (or at change of occupancy or sale)
  • Offices, Shops, Schools/Colleges, Churches, Community Centers,
  • Restaurants/Pubs, Hotels: Every 5 years
Cinemas: Every 1-3 years (depending on licensing rules)
  • Marinas: Annually
Leisure Centers (excluding Pools), Theatres: Every 3 years
  • Swimming Pools: Annually
  • Caravans/Caravan Parks: Annually

Periodic inspections should only be conducted by qualified electricians, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as BS 7671. Our thorough inspection process covers various aspects, including earthing and bonding adequacy, switchgear suitability, serviceability of switches and sockets, wiring system condition, outdoor socket protection, and general wear and tear assessment.

Following the inspection, we issue a comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Report, detailing any observed damage, defects, or non-compliances with safety standards. If any hazardous conditions are identified, immediate remedial action is recommended to mitigate risks.

Additionally, we highly recommend Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to ensure the safety of electrical appliances and equipment. Our PAT testing examines all components to certify their safety for use throughout the year.

For fire alarm systems, adequate maintenance is essential, with inspections recommended every six months according to BS 5839 standards. Our competent technicians can conduct these inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and enhance safety measures.

We understand that every client has unique needs and budget considerations, which is why we offer flexible pricing and work collaboratively to accommodate your requirements. Your safety is our priority, and we’re dedicated to providing reliable and cost-effective electrical solutions tailored to your specific needs.
